Yaw Bonsu is giving Google Maps a workout. Last May, Bonsu was in Hempstead, NY preparing to graduate from Hofstra University. In June, he moved to Grand Rapids, MI to join WZZM 13 as a Sports Anchor/MSJ. Now, it’s onto Toledo, OH for a similar role at BCSN.

BCSN is a regional sports network covering high school, college, and professional sports in NW Ohio and SE Michigan. Bonsu will anchor BCSN’s flagship nightly sportscast and weekly shows and specials. The opportunity was emailed to STAA members in January. It was not posted on STAA’s public job board.

Bonsu completed 12 internships in his time at Hofstra, including 11 months in the WABC-TV Eyewitness News sports department. He also worked at WNBC-TV, SiriusXM, TNT, FOX Sports and FOX News.

Bonsu was a 2024 First Team STAA All-American, recognized as one of nation’s six most outstanding collegiate sports broadcasters.
