Veteran Kansas broadcaster Jones moving to Colorado

KRDZ(June 24, 2014) After spending the first 25 years of his radio career in Kansas, Jerry Jones is on the move. An STAA client, Jones is the new Operations Manager/Sports Director at Media Logic Radio in Wray, CO.

In addition to overseeing daily operations for two stations, Jones is responsible for six daily sportscasts, play-by-play for seven different high school sports, and a daily community issues interview. He’ll also host and hour-long sports talk show during the high school sports season.

Media Logic Radio has employed several STAA clients at its Wray studios over the years. When the latest position opened, they again asked STAA for help.

Broadcasting outside the Sunflower State is something new for Jones. His radio career started in 1987 in Concordia, KS. After 18 years at KNCK/KCKS FM, he moved to KINA-AM in Salina in 2004. From 2008 to 2012, he was Sports Director at the Western Kansas Broadcast Center in Garden City.

Jones’ play-by-play resume includes football and basketball at Garden City and Cloud County Community Colleges, Brown Mackie College, the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
