Today is a good day to be grateful for medication. Sometimes it helps us to function like this morning when I awoke with a splitting headache, or a few days ago when things were running at both ends. Thank goodness for medication.

Great idea. I have gone through quite a bit this last year in my career, losing a rather high profile job and then having to fight and scratch to keep my "name" out there, and put food on the table. I am thankful I have been able to stay "in the game", maybe not at the level I was, but I am out there. I am calling games, making new relationships and still learning during, after, and in between every game I call. I am thankful for that, and for the many friends I have in the business who have constantly checked in on me, offered tips, and just made sure I am upright and functional, lol. I am thankful I chose not to burn any bridges ( I could have napalmed a few) and just tried to stay as professional as I could, and treat everyone the way I hoped they would treat me. Keep after it everyone....I know I am

My car started right up and I drove it to work and I walked into the building without a second thought. I went straight to work and then I noticed that I needed to do my daily 90's of gratefulness. So today I am grateful for my eyesight, and my ability to drive a car,and for my ability to type this message. The motor skills that we all take for granted are sometimes missing or are less that what most humans have. So today I am grateful for my motor skills. Without these abilities can you imagine trying to run the board or trying to use a spotting chart...difficult to say the least. I am also grateful for the blind student who I worked with at KXDS. It wasn't always easy for him to maneuver around in the studio, we were doing a renovation, but he always had a smile on his face and a real talent on the air. He could feel the music and understood when to talk a lot and when to just let the music speak. Thank You Mike.

Today I am grateful for modern medicine, in particular Pepto. Yes it is one of those days, but I am here and I will attempt to have a smile on my face as I teach the next generation of business professionals.

Today is a good day to be thankful for the Remote Mix, and all it brought to my career. I first used the remote mix at my college radio station KWCR, I fell in love with it's abilities back in the early 2000's. It was and is the simplest way to do a live broadcast. It may not sound the best and It has come a long way since then. But I remember how much I enjoyed those first games I did with it. "Stephanie Stanger for 3 and she drops it in like an anchor in the ocean." One of my 1st games as the voice of Weber State's Women's basketball.
I remember wearing a headset and sitting under the bell tower broadcasting "live" on the campus of Weber State University. I think it was my first remote broadcast. I think I may have been in the class Radio Broadcasting for 2 weeks. I remember messing up on Jay-z's name.... I called him Jazzy. I was a little nervous. I used the remote mix on many occasions during my years at KWCR and I used the same equipment at SLCC when I did their basketball and volleyball games. I love the simplicity of the equipment. All you had to do was plug in the headset and the phone line. There were no sat feeds, no bluetooth connectivity, no network connectivity, it was just easy. If you wanted a coach interview you just used a Mini Disk player/recorder and hooked it up with an XLR cable and set the levels. There was only one guy you wanted to hear from and that was the producer when you called into the station on the hot line.

Today caffeine is the greatest thing on the earth. I needed it to wake up this morning and I am still sucking down a Code Red, Pepsi is my favorite but today I just needed more sugar and more caffeine. I remember drinking like 3 bottles of water during games and then trying to hold on during the 4th Quarter to end so we could take a 5 min commercial break and I could get some relief.

Today I am grateful for my 55 min drive to work. It gives me time to think about my life and my students and my own children. It gives me time to relax and to leave work at work most of the time.
It also lets me look at nature and see the beauty in the small things in life, like a squirrel scampering about searching for sustenance.

Today I am grateful for assemblies, I used to hate them because they took away from instructional time, now I think they are a good break for teachers and students and occasionally we all learn something.
Thanks Joyce for the presentation on internet safety.

There is nothing better than parent teacher conferences without the parents.
Yep not a single one tonight.
