NAHL Expansion Hockey Team, Play-by-Play, Amarillo, TX

With the CHL's Amarillo Gorillas ceasing operations, Amarillo will have an NAHL team (to be named Amarillo Bulls, Storm, or Osprey).

The team is looking for a Broadcast and Communications Manager.

Although much of this position relates to broadcast and media relations, the person in this position will also be expected to generate revenue.

Duties and Responsibilities of Broadcast and Sales:

• Write all media releases.
• Develop and maintain relationships with all local media.
• Broadcast the play-by-play of all home and road hockey games.
• Maintain the company web site and all social networking outlets.
• Oversee community relations.
• Exceed minimum thresholds for monthly sales prospecting, sales calls, and sales production.
• Identifying prospects, scheduling presentations with top local executives and closing new deals for assigned sales products and packages.
• Create and submit required reports at specified times or intervals.
• Work collaboratively with other operating departments to ensure successful implementation of all sponsor programs.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• College degree is preferred.
• Proven success in sales of advertising, sponsorships or other promotional inventory is preferred.
• Experience in radio broadcast is required with ice hockey broadcast experience preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require evening and weekend shifts.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Reports to: Director of Business Operations (DBO)

Remuneration:

• Salary is negotiable
• Results based commissions and bonuses.
• Other benefits are offered.
