The Chicago Dogs are accepting applications for a Broadcasting and Media Relations Assistant.

The Dogs are members of the independent American Association.

The Broadcast and Media Relations Assistant will assist the Chicago Dogs in the planning, development and execution of team-produced broadcasts and media relations initiatives, plus other events taking place at the ballpark. The assistant will have the opportunity to appear on broadcasts for Dogs home games as a secondary Play-by-Play broadcaster and color commentator.

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Serve as a secondary Play-by-Play broadcaster and color commentator on all Chicago Dogs home broadcasts.
* Assist with web content for ​thechicagodogs.com,​ including game previews, recaps, feature stories, highlights, etc.
* Basic video production and photography, including shooting, editing and posting to the Chicago Dogs’ social media platforms and website.
* Help to create the Chicago Dogs media guide, as well as game notes.
* Other responsibilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Be a strong cultural fit and be an authentic advancer of our mission and values.
* Recent college graduate.
* Strong experience with baseball play-by-play and color commentary.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent time-management skills.
* Graphic design and video editing experience, preferably with the Adobe Suite.
* Working knowledge of baseball.
* Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and game nights.
* Must be willing to say “yes,” to go above and beyond expectations and do dirty work.

Congratulations to STAA member Josh White, the Dogs new Broadcasting and Media Relations Assistant.

Josh will graduate this spring from the University of Miami.
