The Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Twins AA) are accepting applications for a Media & Public Relations Intern.
The team tells STAA the position could include play-by-play broadcasting. The department manager is open to letting the intern broadcast a portion of each game; however, broadcasting would not be the focus of the internship and would only be allowed if all other gameday responsibilities are already met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (with an emphasis on education)
* Pitch stories and work with local and national media to arrange player and coach interviews and availability.
* Provide resources to media members including game notes, line up cards, and stat packs on Blue Wahoos game days.
* Assist the public relations department in developing creative marketing campaigns for print, online, and social media campaigns.
* Write, edit, and design content for the Blue Wahoos official team programs.
* Write, edit, and design content for the Blue Wahoos media guide.
* Provide consistent updates and upkeep on the Blue Wahoos official team website.
* Write game recaps and feature stories for the Blue Wahoos website, program, daily newsletter, and for distribution to local media sources.
* Promote the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and Studer Family of Companies at appearances and events throughout the community.
* Create graphic and video components for team marketing, social media campaigns, and printed publications.
* Monitor and archive press coverage of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
* Archive Blue Wahoos photography.
* Gain on-air broadcasting experience on radio and television and provide technical support to the Blue Wahoos Broadcast Network.
* Other duties as assigned
