The Vallejo Admirals of the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs is seeking a Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting for 2019. The ideal candidate has at least some experience in a media department serving as an intern or assistant at some level even if they are looking for their first Media Director job. The Media Director will perform and/or oversee:

* Website & social media management
* Managing the team’s Pointstreak, Baseball Reference & Wiki page
* Press release distribution & creation
* Creating program inserts for each home series with player stats, fun facts, and probable pitchers
* Writing of a promotional newsletter previewing the upcoming home series
* Assisting other media outlets during games in press box and in arranging coach and player interviews
* Writing and posting of game wraps on website and social media
* Conducting brief pre-game and post-game shows
* The broadcast of all 80 Admirals games plus playoffs
* Official score keeping of home games
* Oversee or perform public address, the production of in-game entertainment and sound, and writing/updating the script for public address
* Production of ads and ad copy for radio broadcasts and in-stadium announcements
* Special event promotion on social media and website
* Player and coach interviews

The Broadcasting & Media Relations Director will work with local media regarding any information they may need to increase coverage of the Vallejo Admirals and promotion of events at games.

Start Date: Offseason work can begin immediately for a monthly stipend that increases as the season approaches. The job kicks into full gear between March 1 and April 1 as the season starts in late May/early June & ends at the completion of the season in late August/early September (pending playoffs).

This is a paid position with sales commission opportunities. The salary will be determined by the experience of the candidate.


* Passion for sports media
* Good baseball knowledge
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Able to work in fast-paced atmosphere
* Able to work six days a week, nights, and often 10-12-hour days
* Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
* Experience covering high school, collegiate, or professional sports as a broadcaster and writer
* Familiarity with WordPress
* Audio and video editing skills
* Writing and distributing newsletters and game notes
