(This position description was emailed to STAA members on October 17th)

The Bellingham Bells of the summer collegiate West Coast League are accepting applications for a Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations.

Duties:

* Provide play-by-play commentary during all 57 Bells home & away games during the 2019 season.
* Write & post recap stories after all 27 Bells away games. Work to ensure recaps are posted in a timely fashion and are accurate and professionally crafted.
* Assist with web and media relations duties after all home and away games, including but not limited to website updating, media updates and social media posting.
* Act as main point of contact for the team for all media inquiries and actively reach out to news outlets to pitch stories & provide information.
* Work closely with the Bells Media Intern team to create multimedia features. Assist interns in securing interviews and other information as needed.
* Assist in the planning and execution of the 2019 Media Day (to be held the first week of the 2019 season at Joe Martin Field). This project will include, but not be limited to, the following: outreach to local media and coordination of players and coach interviews with local media.
* In anticipation of the season, work with the Bells Marketing team to produce content to be shared with local media, including but not limited to: player press releases and highlights, feature stories promoting the team and franchise, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

* At least one season of play-by-play experience with a collegiate level organization (baseball preferred)
* Ability to travel to Bellingham, WA
* Availability between May 28 and August 20, 2018
* Technical knowledge of how to set up a radio broadcast using a variety of mediums
(Skype, telephone, etc.)

Compensation:

• Per game fee based on experience
• Host Family Accommodations
