The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (Atlantic League) have an opening for a broadcasting and media relations assistant for the remainder of the 2021 season.


Candidates for this position will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working for a professional baseball team in its second season of a new partnership with the MLB.


The position is a full-time, unpaid internship for college students, or recent graduates only, and lasts from late ASAP through the conclusion of the season in late October.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



Broadcasting:



* Color commentary for all Blue Crabs’ home games

* Opportunity to work up to play-by-play for middle innings

* Preparation for broadcasts



Media Relations:



* Compiling daily game notes

* Compiling and distributing stat packs prior to home contests

* Assisting in activities such as composition of player biographies

* Assist with other team media relations efforts

Requirements:


* Keen attention to detail and a diligent, dedicated work ethic

* Strong writing and verbal communication skills
* Vast knowledge of baseball

* Be a team player and self-motivator with professional interests extending beyond the game broadcast

* Possess a willingness to learn and a positive attitude

* Ability to multi-task and maintain high quality of work under daily deadlines
