The Southern Illinois Miners are accepting applications for a Broadcast & Media Relations Intern.
The Miners are an independent professional baseball team, and a member of the Frontier League since 2007.
Start date: Mid-May
End date: End of season (around mid-September, dependent on playoffs)
This position is a paid internship.
Duties of the internship may include, but are not limited to:
* Play-by-play and color commentary as the #2 broadcaster for all Miners home games
* Assistance with pre- and post-game shows when team is at home
* Assistance with daily media relations tasks, including game notes, game recaps, creation and distribution of statistical packets/lineups, etc.
* Assistance in upkeep of team website and social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
* Assistance with interviewing Miners players and coaches for pregame shows throughout the season
* Assistance with inputting data into advance scouting program
* Assistance with other game day and non-game day tasks at the ballpark
Successful candidate must have the following:
* Baseball play-by-play experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational skills as well as ability to multitask
* Can-do attitude, outstanding work ethic, and willingness to learn and work as a team
* Media relations experience a plus
* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Audition, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) a plus
