#1 Post by Jon Chelesnik » Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:04 am

The Boise Hawks are accepting applications for an intern for the 2022 Season in our Radio Broadcast and Media Relations Position. This is a tremendous opportunity for a December 2021 graduate, or a May 2021 graduate to get the experience you need.

The Hawks are an independent baseball team of the Pioneer League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball but is an MLB Partner League.

The selected candidate will receive a $675 a month living stipend and further per diem coverage for all road games.

Duties:

* During the season, you will be the voice for the team, for all play by play radio broadcasts.
* You will work to pull together team related stats needed for technical game operations.
* You will be a liaison for the team and the front office.
* You may travel with the team as assigned.

To be considered for the position:

* You must be able to start full-time on site in the role as of March 2022.
* You must be a recent college grad, or need this internship to graduate (either or).
* WE WILL NOT CONSIDER ANYONE WHO HAS NOT GRADUATED AS OF THE DATES ABOVE, AS THIS IS AN INTERNSHIP.
* WE WILL DISQUALIFY ANY CANDIDATE THAT MAILS REELS, FLASH DRIVES OR TAPES TO OUR OFFICES DIRECTLY.
* Previous college experience in a play by play is a must.
* You must have an interest in doing more than just radio broadcasting, as you will required to work on game notes and stats, as well as write press releases.

Please indicate in your cover letter you learned of this opportunity through Sportscasters Talent Agency of America.

Congratulations to STAA member Matt Yeazel.

Yeazel is graduating this spring from Marquette University. He's won several sportscasting awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.

"I'm very excited to take the step into pro ball and get another summer of baseball play-by-play experience after I worked with the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League last summer," he enthuses.

Yeazel is the 6th consecutive Voice of the Hawks who is an STAA member.
