Flood Communications is accepting applications for a Sports Director at KUTT Radio in Fairbury, NE.
This role is for a hands-on leader and self-starter who is relentless in his/her quest to find new ways and platforms to connect with sports fans. This role will require the ability to drive results.
Responsibilities:
* Radio play-by-play for Doane University (NAIA) football
* Radio play-by-play for local high school sports, occasional TV play-by-play for high school and college sports
* Comprehensive video news reporting (story idea, interview, shoot, edit, publish)
* Establish systems and processes to share and distribute sports content across multiple platforms
* Grow sports audience through broadcast and social media as well as on demand audio content development
* Work with research and analytics to craft stories supporting sports content integration and audience growth mission
* Partner with revenue leadership on development of programs, features and sponsorship opportunities
* Also, included is a back-up role for KUTT radio. Occasional air shifts, severe weather coverage, sports re-ports, sports show w/another director.
Qualifications:
• 1-5 years in sports leadership position
* Foundational knowledge of news reporting (video training will be provided)
* 2+ years’ experience digital content and strategy preferably within sports media –or- strong knowledge of digital content development, strategy, and planning
* Bachelor’s degree preferred
* Comprehensive knowledge of digital media including mobile, digital audio
* Thorough understanding of local sports media landscape
* Capable of presenting ideas to leaders
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
