(August 10, 2015) After two years in the NAHL, John Peterson is moving up. An STAA member, Peterson has been named Broadcaster and Director of Media Relations for the Evansville IceMen of the ECHL.
Peterson joins the organization from the Austin (Minnesota) Bruins. He is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
In addition to his broadcast work in Austin, Peterson did play-by-play for a variety of sports while a student at Arizona State University. He also has previous sales experience with the NHL’s Minnesota Wild where he was a part of the sales team setting a franchise record for total ticket revenue in the 2014-15 season. Peterson is a native of Lake Elmo, MN.
“I’m extremely grateful and thrilled to have the opportunity to come to Evansville and provide exciting and informative coverage of the IceMen this season,” said John Peterson.
“Having grown up on the ice in Minnesota, I live and breath hockey and look forward to engaging with the IceMen fan base throughout the year. I’m excited to be a part of an organization that strives for success both on and off the ice, and is committed to having an active presence in the community. During a recent visit to Evansville, I was impressed by the IceMen staff, coaches and hospitality from the people in town. I immediately knew I could see myself living in Evansville.”
