Congratulations to the many STAA members who will broadcast baseball in new places this summer! For many, it’s the beginning of their baseball broadcasting journey. For another, it’s their arrival at the top.

MLB & Affiliated Baseball

Alex Cohen
Chicago Cubs TV. Alex moves up from the Iowa Cubs.

Jason Kempf
Jason follows Alex Cohen as the radio voice of the I-Cubs (Cubs AAA).

Logan Bourandas
Gwinnett Stripers (AAA) No. 2. Logan spent last season with the Rocket City Trash Pandas. He is a 2023 Penn State grad.

Carson Harper
El Paso Chihuahuas (Padres AAA) No. 2. Carson graduates this spring from Niagara University.

Jack Johnson
Jack moves to the Columbus Clingstones (Braves AA) to be their lead voice. He spent the previous two seasons as the No. 2 broadcaster for the Gwinnett Stripers.

Sedric Granger
Frisco RoughRiders No. 2. Sedric started broadcasting on MLB.com for HBCU Baseball Classics and MLB Youth Events in February 2024, his senior year at Ohio University.

Larry Larson
Charleston RiverDogs (Rays A) No. 1. The 2022 Bradley University grad spent last summer with the Dunedin Blue Jays.

Luke Moehle
Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Cubs A) No. 1. Luke spent the 2024 season as the broadcaster and media relations assistant with the Frisco RoughRiders.

Tim Slack
Fresno Grizzlies (Rockies A) No. 1. Tim is a veteran broadcaster with summer collegiate and minor league baseball experience, and other play-by-play expierence with multiple colleges.

Zach Surdenik
Lakeland Flying Tigers (Tigers A) No. 1. Zach spent 2023 in the Cape Code League before serving last summer as a Detroit Tigers broadcast assistant. He is a 2024 Michigan State grad.

Max Tanzer
Bradenton Marauders (Pirates A) No. 1. Max is back stateside after spending this winter in the Australian Baseball League. He’s also been a No. 2 with the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels and a Tampa Bay Ray broadcast intern.

Aaron Arnstein
Bowling Green Hot Rods (Rays A). Aaron is a 2024 Maryland grad. He’s most recently broadcast play-by-play for Villanova baseball, softball volleyball and field hockey.

John Baldridge
Peoria Chiefs (Cardinals A) No. 2. John spent two summers in the Northwoods League. He will graduate from Xavier University in May. John will serve under fellow STAA member Cody Schindler in Peoria.

Jack Smith
Fredericksburg Nationals (Nationals A) No. 2. Jack graduates from the University of Southern California in May.

Ryan Zimmerman
Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Astros A) No. 2. Ryan spent one season in the Cape Cod League, then two more in the American Association with the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He teams with fellow STAA member Andrew Chapman in Fayetteville.

Brandon Januska
The Illinois Media School grad is the Billings Mustangs’ Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations.

Independent Leagues

Rich Ray
Lincoln Saltdogs. Spent the past three seasons with the Fremont Moo. Fun fact: Rich is enshrined in the Midland University Athletic Hall of Fame.

John Colavita
Sioux Falls Explorers. Was with the Rochester Honkers last season.

Spencer Pattison
Down East Bird Dawgs No. 1. Called games last summer for the Sherman (TX) Shadowcats.
