(April 22, 2016) Upon graduating from college, Andy Morgan was torn between a sportscasting career in radio or TV. After starting in small-town radio, Morgan’s next two jobs have both been in television. The latest move is to El Paso, TX where Morgan has joined KTSM-TV as a sports anchor/reporter.
At KTSM, Morgan will be covering the University of Texas-El Paso, New Mexico State University and local high school athletics.
A Colorado native, Morgan graduated from Colorado State University in 2011. He joined STAA six months later. After covering CSU athletics online for two years, Morgan accepted a sports director position at KRDZ 1440 in Wray, CO. He admitted that he was concerned he might be closing the door on his TV aspirations. “The thought most definitely crossed my mind,” he said.
Seven months after moving to Wray, the opportunity arose for Morgan to move to television and he joined KOB 4 in Albuquerque, NM as a sports photographer/MMJ. “It just felt right,” he said at the time. Now, the man who started his sportscasting career in radio moves five hours south and deeper into a growing TV career.
