(September 20, 2013) Network radio has been a goal of TJ Carpenter’s. He can now cross it off his bucket list. An STAA client, Carpenter been named co-host of Learfield Sports’ new college football show, End Zone Radio.
End Zone Radio airs from Noon to 7 pm EDT each Saturday during college football season. It includes live play by play from around the country and look-ins on games currently in progress as teams enter the red zone.
“We’ll also have live analysis of games as they’re going on, play-by-play and color commentators from around the country to give instant reaction or previews of upcoming games,” says Carpenter, who will co-host with Bill Pollock. “The show will be hosted by me and will be part analysis, part play by play and highlights. It will air live each Saturday and will include both audio and visual components.
When Learfield was looking for a host for the show, they asked STAA for recommendations.
“I was interested in finding a network job that was oriented toward college football on a national scale and I made STAA aware of that desire,” says Carpenter. “They worked hard to put me on Learfield Sports’ radar and I got a call within a week or so.”
Carpenter is excited to be in on the ground floor of something unique – something he hopes will soon be a college football staple. “The ability to react instantly to games as they happen for a national audience puts my skills to the test. It also hones my ability to create constant engaging content that cannot be found anywhere else. Being multi-faceted is important to me, and this is a dynamic of analysis and broadcasting that will add to some of the other things I do, like hosting a daily radio show, that is becoming more and more important in the world of instant reaction and analysis that Twitter and other social media provide.
“I look forward to doing what I love this fall — watching college football and providing the best possible product for our audience.”
