Chad Franzen(June 17, 2013) Chad Franzen is moving up in market size and closer to home. An STAA client, Franzen is relocating to Gillette, WY to take over as Sports Director at The Basin Radio Network. Franzen will be broadcasting daily sportscasts and calling play-by-play for high school football and basketball and American Legion baseball.

“I will also be helping out with air shifts and whatever else is necessary in the moment,” says Franzen.

The move an upgrade in market size for Franzen and gets him closer to his mile high roots. “I have served as Sports Director at stations in smaller towns like Chadron, NE; Salida, CO; and Spirit Lake, IA. Those have been great experiences, but I am excited to take the next step in a relatively larger city like Gillette, which is within decent driving distance of my hometown near Denver, CO.”

A 1996 graduate of Colorado State University, Franzen broke into radio in Chadron, NE three years after graduating. He has been an STAA client since 2011. “The job came about as a result of my membership with STAA,” he says. “I received an e-mail notifying me of the opening and I applied shortly thereafter.

“STAA has been an invaluable resource for me, not only because of immediate job notifications, but also because of the advice I have received in improving my broadcasting skills, and making my resume and demos more attractive to potential employers.”
