Matt Dudas(February 5, 2013) The new year promises to hold new experiences for Matt Dudas. Among those experiences will be moving from the Northeast to the South. An STAA client, Dudas has been hired as the Assistant Broadcaster for the Arkansas Travelers.

The Travelers are the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

“I really am excited to work in the Texas League. Being from the Northeast my whole life and having worked in the Eastern League last season, this will be a new challenge for me and one that I am ready to embrace,” says Dudas.

This isn’t the first time Dudas has taken a crack at affiliated baseball. He was the Media Relations and Broadcast Assistant for the Harrisburg Senators in 2012, while he finished up his undergraduate degree at Millersville University of Pennsylvania.

“This position allows me the opportunity to apply the skills I learned from working in Harrisburg with Terry Byrom last season, along with providing me the chance to work alongside another distinguished broadcaster in Phil Elson.”

Dudas first learned of the opening from one of his broadcasting mentors, longtime Duke University voice Bob Harris.

“It was with Mr. Harris’ lead and the information on the position I gained through STAA that I began to pursue the position,” Dudas explains.

In 2011 Dudas was the voice of the Mat-Su Miners of the Alaska Baseball League. He has also been calling high school play-by-play on WNPV since 2006.

“I am really excited to work with [Travelers Director of Broadcasting Phil Elson]. It seems like a great next step to build on in my broadcasting career. Now, I just need to start making my arrangements on living in Little Rock!”
