Profile
I am a hard worker, eager to learn and willing to do whatever is required of me. I have had many opportunities in my life to work with people, including athletes, coaches, administrators, fans and business owners, and am very people-oriented.
Talk Show Host, Sportscaster and Sales at KSVC- Mid-Utah Radio, Richfield, UT May 2015-Present
- I host the morning show, Morning Talk on KSVC 980 AM & 100.5 FM that has an 11-county coverage area in south central Utah.
- Morning Talk is a show that covers local news, sports, community events, and top national stories.
- I am the sports director for baseball and wrestling broadcasts for Mid-Utah Radio's network of stations (KSVC, KWUT, KMTI, KMGR and KLGL).
- I broadcast football, boys and girls basketball, wrestling and baseball for 11 high schools throughout the south central Utah area.
- I host a Friday morning show during Morning Talk, called KSVC Sports Friday. I will travel to different towns within our listening area and highlight that team's game that weekend. The show includes coach and player interviews.
- I host the Saturday Morning Quarterback, Saturday mornings on KSVC. The show is a local sports talk show that includes coach and player interviews.
- I brought the player of the year awards to Mid-Utah Radio. For each respective sports season we have all of our broadcasters, along with the coaches nominate players of the year for each sport. We then have each broadcaster and coach vote from those nominated and we also have a fan vote at www.midutahradio.com to help create more listener interaction.
- I am responsible for the sports content that goes on www.midutahradio.com and I also build digital ads for the website.
- I sell both radio and digital ads. The radio ads can be sold for all five Mid-Utah Radio stations.
- I work directly with CBS Sports Radio and was responsible for bringing sports talk to KSVC on the weekends.
- I am responsible for the social media networking for KSVC.
- I am responsible for and perform play-by-play broadcasts of the NPCC Knights and NPHS Bulldogs for the following sports: Football, softball, volleyball, basketball, and wrestling.
- I host a daily sports talk show on ESPN Radio 1410 called, ‘The Blitz with Robert Lovell.’ I am responsible for booking guests and coming up with the content of the show.
- I interview coaches from North Platte Community College, North Platte High School and North Platte St. Patrick’s High School weekly during their respective sports seasons. I also regularly interview coaches from six other high schools in the area.
- I am responsible for six 90-second sportscasts on KELN-FM 97.1 and KNPQ-FM 107.3 and 12 90-second sportscasts on KOOQ-AM 1410 ESPN Radio each weekday.
- I am responsible for determining what national game broadcasts we carry and making sure the receivers are set up to receive them correctly.
- I am responsible for filling out the affidavits on KOOQ-AM 1410 ESPN Radio.
- I am responsible for severe weather coverage on the three Eagle Radio North Platte stations. Whenever there are severe weather warnings or tornado warnings I will be live on the air covering the severe weather until the threat has passed.
- I update www.northplattepost.com with sports stories on a regular basis. I write the stories for local sports.
- I am responsible for selling the ad space on www.northplattepost.com. I assist the GM in coming up with the pricing points and selling ads to my account list.
- I am responsible for building ads for www.northplattepost.com.
- I am responsible for the day-to-day operation and content of AM 1440 KRDZ.
- I am responsible for keeping the logs of the station up-to-date, including filling out affidavits and monitoring the EAS system.
- I am responsible for covering severe weather coverage on AM 1440 KRDZ. Whenever there are severe weather warnings or tornado warnings either I or someone I designate will be on the air covering the severe weather until the threat has passed.
- I am responsible for the other employees that work at AM 1440 KRDZ and help them when needed. I assist them in sales, on-air content and any other area that the station is involved with.
- I co-host a daily morning talk segment titled, 'The Morning Conversation.' The segment features authorities from the City of Wray as well as Yuma County. I also interview sports figures from the region along with those from the state and national levels on a regular basis.
- I host a semi-weekly show titled, 'Eagles on Air with Robert Lovell.' The show features students at Wray High School that are excelling in academics, service or sports.
- These duties are all in addition to my duties as the Sports Director and in Sales for the station that are listed below.
- I perform play-by-play duties for local high school sports including, football, volleyball, softball, boys and girls basketball, wrestling and baseball. I also provide on-air updates for regional and state track meets.
- I am responsible for six two-minute sportscasts each weekday. The sportscasts air during the local morning show and the noon hour. Each sportscast balances local sports news with regional and national sports news.
- I host the Wray Eagles Coaches Show with Robert Lovell. The coaches show is a weekly show that features the coaches at Wray High School along with opposing coaches and coaches from the surrounding communities.
- I am responsible for the correct airing of Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Kansas City Royals broadcasts on AM 1440 KRDZ. I also interview individuals with each organization on a regular basis.
- I am responsible for keeping the www.krdz.com website up-to-date on all pages. I not only keep the website up-to-date but I am also responsible for the stations social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.
- I perform daily sales duties for the four-station group that makes up Media Logic Radio. The four stations, KATR, KSRX, KFTM and KRDZ, cover all of northeastern Colorado. I not only sale advertising for sports productions, but I work with clients to best suit their advertising needs.
- As a salesman I have more than doubled the monthly billing for the accounts I was given when I took the area over.
- I am responsible for the production of ads for my clients, including scheduling voice-overs, producing and mixing the ads.
- I am responsible for the day-to-day operation of AM 1440 KRDZ and making sure the daily and weekly shows are downloaded and transferred into the SMARTS Broadcast System.
- I performed play-by-play for the Utah 3A State Tournament.
- I performed color commentary and play-by-play duties for local high school sports as well as hosted a weekly high school sports show.
- I compiled the data and wrote a feature article for the 2011-2012 Cherry Creek Radio High School Sports Guide.
- I assisted the production manager with the producing and editing of advertisements and local radio spots.
- I kept the Sports Radio 1210 website up to date and was responsible for updating live sports broadcasts as well as the high school sports scores ticker.
- I was responsible for operating the board during sports broadcasts on Sports Radio 1210 ESPN. Sports Radio 1210 ESPN broadcasted Brigham Young University sports, Dixie Rebels semi-pro football games, and local high school sports.
- I made a weekly appearance on a local sports talk show, The Drive with Devin Dixon.
- I performed color commentary for Dixie State College baseball and softball games.
- I performed play-by-play and color commentary duties for high school football and basketball games.
- I reported on Dixie State College sports for SUN News.
The Dixie Sun is the voice and campus newspaper of Dixie State College of Utah.
- I was the beat writer for Dixie State College football, men’s basketball and baseball.
- I wrote features on athletes from a number of the college sports teams.
- I hosted a weekly sports podcast on the Dixie Sun website, www.dixiesunlink.com, called the Lovell Lowdown.
- I was responsible for covering the Dixie State College football team for KSL.com. My responsibilities included game recaps, game previews and mid-week articles that portrayed the status of the team and injury updates.
- I assisted local sports talk show host, Devin Dixon, with the production of his show and made a weekly appearance as a co-host.
- I assisted Devin in marketing and production of sporting events, including the Utah State Long Drive Competition.

Skills
I am proficient in operating computers, both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. I am proficient in operating Microsoft Office and other related software. I also have a working knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Audition, and other related media software. I have a working knowledge of Nexgen, Audiovault and SMARTS Broadcast Systems. I grew up on a farm in central Utah and as a result I am a very hard worker that appreciates a job well done. I earned my Eagle Scout and try to employ the values of the Boy Scouts of America in my daily life. I played football, basketball and baseball while attending Delta High School and received awards for each.
