Cariel joins Gold and Blue Nation’s coverage of WVU Mountaineers football

<!–— 1410 —–>Sydney Cariel has accomplished much in sports media since graduating from college in 2017. She started as a sports anchor/reporter in Midland, TX, moved to a similar role in Flint, MI., then most recently covered the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons for WXYZ-TV in Detroit. But she always wanted to cover one team or school. Now she is.

Cariel is joining Gold and Blue Nation in Morgantown, WV. She will co-host The West Virginia University Coaches Show and be a field reporter for a WVU football pregame show.

Cariel is a 2017 graduate of Arizona State University. Her passion for sports storytelling comes from growing up in a sports family near San Francisco. She attended her first 49ers game as a kindergartner and has especially loved football ever since. Now, she’ll be covering football and athletics in the Big 12 Conference.
