(March 16, 2012) Justin Allegri is ready for the grind of summer collegiate baseball. An STAA client, Allegri has been hired as voice of the Bellingham (WA) Belles of the West Coast League.
“My love is baseball, Allegri says. “I have done NCAA D1 baseball but nothing like doing 58 games in 70 days.”
Allegri landed the Belles job after learning of another opening in the WCL through STAA. He interviewed for a position with the Wenatchee AppleSox, who then mentioned the Bellingham opportunity. “The new general manager in Bellingham was a former employee of Wenatchee and friend of the owner. I called them and they gave me an interview. After about two weeks I was offered the job,” Allegri says.
“The thing I am most excited for will be the day-in day-out work of broadcasting baseball,” Allegri says.
A 2010 graduate of San Jose State, Allegri comes to the Bells with an impressive resume in the communications industry. He began his career in 2007 working for KSJS, the San Jose State radio station. There he was the voice of the Spartans in football, baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, ice hockey and volleyball. He is the Sports Director at KSJS.
Allegri has been an STAA client since October 2011.
“STAA has been a fantastic service. Not only is Jon (STAA CEO Jon Chelesniik) and his staff helpful in treating you as an individual, but they open doors to jobs that you would otherwise never hear of. The reason I heard about the job, applied for the job, and got the job is because of STAA. Even after I accepted the position, the radio station [the Belles] was trying to make a deal with requested to view my STAA page. I’m extremely grateful to STAA and their staff.”
