You must have the ambition to generate local sports stories without relying on national feeds.
The right candidate will take charge of our seasonal, weekly live sports show, ‘Friday Night Frenzy’ and work with news and sales managers to grow the program in reach and revenue while anchoring nightly sportscasts and contributing enterprise content for sweeps coverage.
What you will have the opportunity to do:
* Produce and anchor sports blocks for 6 & 10 PM newscasts.
* Lead the market in sports-related, daily social media/web content.
* Coordinate live coverage of seasonal, weekly sports show, ‘Friday Night Frenzy.’
* Develop relationships with coaches and athletic directors to break stories.
* Shoot, write, and edit sports stories for broadcast and web.
* Manage schedules, timecards, and other supervisory needs for sports dept.
