If there were a Hall of Fame for college teachers of sports broadcasting, the following five standouts would make up the inaugural class:

They are listed in alphabetical order by last name.

Tom Hedrick (Kansas; retired)
Ed Ingles (Pictured; Hofstra; deceased)
Bill Mercer (North Texas; retired)
John Nicholson (Syracuse; retired)
Bill Roth (Virginia Tech)

Which of your college professors had the biggest impact on your sportscasting career?

Lou Riggs is a GREAT nomination. He taught at Santa Monica College in SoCal.

Riggs and Headrick both wrote outstanding sports broadcasting "how to" books, as well. The suggestions are timeless. I strongly suggest folks read them.
