Four Prime Play-by-Play Openings

#1 Post by Jon Chelesnik » Fri Feb 15, 2008 9:43 am

Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (S-T-Double-A) currently has four prime play-by-play jobs that the employers have asked us to not yet publish, nor are they published anywhere else on the Internet. They include:

* Three major college football and men's basketball play-by-play jobs, including coaches shows
* One WNBA job

The three college jobs will all be posted on the STAA job board IMMEDIATELY after the employers give us the go-ahead. Look for them over the next six weeks. The first one could be as soon as next week. The WNBA job may remain stealth.

You don't need to wait for these jobs to be posted before you apply. STAA will GUARANTEE that your demo and resume will be among the first received by these employers. STAA clients who have demo and resume pages in the STAA Talent Search will have links to their Talent Pages sent to these stealth openings on Friday, February 22. Enroll in the STAA Talent Search by Wednesday February 20 and your new Talent Page will be included in those that we send.

Get your demo and resume page in the STAA Talent Search today by calling 949-215-6713.

Thank you to everyone who has called and emailed to inquire further about these opportunities. I'm sorry that I cannot release any additional information, other than to say that the three colleges are not strangers to bowl games and NCAA Tournaments.

The WNBA part of this is likely Atlanta. The rest is a mystery to me. I have not heard of any pending retirements or non-renewals on the D1 level.

I was thinking along those same lines and the school I keep landing on is Cincinnati. You have to wonder how much longer Dan Hoard is going to do the split city thing with his wife and kid living in Boston and him being in Cincinnati for the better part of half the year.

I gotta expect that is about to end. I'm surprised it has lasted this long. UC would kind fit the "...the three colleges are not strangers to bowl games and NCAA Tournaments." wording of john's previous post although i'm not sure the bearcats were EVER in a bowl game before last season.

The next of these jobs will likely be posted after the start of the NCAA Tournament. Again, the timing of these announcements is not up to STAA. It is up to the schools. The jobs will be posted as soon as they give us the green light.

...or not...

Dan Hoard, UC's radio play-by-play voice, said Sunday that after meeting with officials from both UC and WLW radio, he expects to return next season. This is the final year of Hoard's current contract.

We are down to the final 16. Any updates? Could this mean one or more of the teams are still in the tourny?

Thank you to everyone who has emailed me privately regarding the release of the next two jobs. I would anticipate they will be posted within the next several weeks. The timeline of their release is 100% in the hands of the employers. We will post them immediately after we receive permission.
