The Peoria Chiefs are accepting applications for a Media and Production intern.

Play-by-play in this position is limited but interviews and other on-air experiences will happen including hosting pre and post game on occasion.

The Media and Production Intern is part of the media team responsible for producing the Peoria Chiefs game broadcast for online streaming including highlight editing, game production & engineering and streaming setup in addition to producing team content for the website, blog and social media.

The key responsibilities of the Media and Production Intern include but are not limited to:

* Produce the entire Chiefs game broadcast including pre and post-game shows for all home games and select road games
* Play commercial spots during inning-breaks and pre/post-game shows while also keeping track of inventory to make sure all commercials are played according to partner agreements
* Highlight editing for pre and post game shows
* Record and upload game broadcasts to FTP site when needed
* Stream broadcast to MiLB.com and Peoria Chiefs radio website
* Ensure highest quality broadcast to be aired on streaming signal
* Work with Video Department for commercials and other promotional videos including interviews
* Create written and video content for the Playing in Peoria Blog, PeoriaChiefs.com, the gameday playbill and social media
* Interview players for written, video and audio content for all of the Chiefs social media platforms
* Write press releases and feature stories for distribution in local media and Chiefs social media platforms
* Vast working computer knowledge including Virtual Cart Machine, recording software, editing software and audio streaming

The Media and Production Intern will work with the Broadcast & Media Manager on a daily basis to ensure that all games and highlights are edited, produced and distributed accordingly and that all website and social media content is scheduled.

The Media and Production Intern and Broadcast & Media Manager will work together in assisting local media with any information they may need to increase coverage of the Peoria Chiefs. The overall media team will also include the Broadcast/Media Assistant and the Community & Fan Engagement Intern.

The Media and Production Intern will be responsible for maintaining a proper working environment in the press box studio.

Reports to:

Nathan Baliva, Director of Media, Community Engagement and Baseball Operations

Starts: Early March & Ends at the completion of the season (pending playoffs).

Must be in attendance for every home game. Must be willing and available to work nights and weekends. Some office hours on non-game days or when team is on road.

Compensation:

$500 per month stipend plus minimum wage during all games.

Qualifications:

Minimum – Soph, Jr. or Sr. standing towards a Bachelor’s Degree
* Desire to learn about a career in sports
* Vast baseball knowledge
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Creative problem solver
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Experience with other sports organizations a plus but not a must

General Information:

Interns must be available to participate full-time, including evenings, weekends and holidays. On non-event days the hours are generally 9:00AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday (plus possible evenings, weekends and holidays for player and/or mascot appearances, facility events and other special circumstances). On event days generally start at 9:00AM and ends after the event (sometimes as late or later than 11:00PM).

In addition all interns have the opportunities to assist with various aspects of operating the stadium such as receiving shipments, pulling tarp, facility events (college & high school baseball games and private parties) and limited reception phone coverage.
