The Chicago Dogs of the independent American Association are accepting applications for a Broadcast & Media Relations intern.

The Dogs are based in Rosemont, IL.

Position starts May 1st and runs through the end of the season, though there is some flexibility.

Job Description:

The Broadcast and Media Relations Intern will assist the Chicago Dogs in the planning, development and execution of team produced broadcasts and media relations initiatives, plus other events taking place at the ballpark. The intern will have the opportunity to appear on broadcasts for Dogs home games as a secondary Play-by-Play broadcaster and color commentator.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Serve as a secondary Play-by-Play broadcaster and color commentator on Chicago Dogs home broadcasts.
* Assist with web content for www.thechicagodogs.com, including game previews, recaps, feature stories, podcasts, highlights, etc.
* Basic video production and photography, including shooting, editing and posting to the Chicago Dogs’ social media platforms and website.
* Help create the game notes for each series and distribute to local media.
* Other responsibilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current college student or recent graduate.
* Be a strong cultural fit and be an authentic advancer of our mission and values.
* Strong experience with baseball play-by-play and sports writing.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on writing.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent time-management skills.
* Graphic design and video editing experience, preferably with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere).
* Working knowledge of baseball.
* Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and game nights.
