West Virginia Power No. 2 -- POSITION FILLED

The West Virginia Power are looking for a hard working, dedicated, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and talented person to work and grow within our organization.

This individual will work closely with the Broadcast and Media Relations Manager, but will also work with the full-time staff to learn and execute the other facets of operating a Minor League Baseball team.

Responsibilities

* Host pregame and postgame show on all 70 home broadcasts, as well as select road contests, and handle three innings of play-by-play for all home games, with additional opportunities given commensurate to work performed during the season, including solo road trips at the end of the year.
* Conduct daily pregame interviews for the Power Baseball Network.
* Help enhance the Power’s audio presence through podcasts, live streamed interviews, audio recaps, etc.
* Assist with daily media relations tasks (including writing game and feature stories, creating stat packets and game notes, update the Power Line Blog and website, etc.).
* Contribute to the Power Media Guide and GameDay Program with player and community content.
* Provide assistance with marketing requirements as needed, including graphic design.
* Coordinate the dissemination and collection of applications for Power Baseball Charities Scholarship program.
* Assist in other areas of gameday and non-gameday stadium event operations.

Requirements

* Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must have at least one year of broadcast experience and possess strong baseball knowledge
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
* Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Premiere and MiLB Homebase is preferred, but not required
* Must be willing to make phone calls and sell
* Must be available for the entirety of the 2019 season (March through mid-September)
* Must be willing to work long hours
* Must be able to interact with all other areas of organization
* Must be willing to work all positions or any other task when asked by any full-time staff member
* Must be responsible for all equipment when in use

Compensation and Length of Internship

* $600 per month expense reimbursement; $10/hour during games and select additional events
* Start Date: March 4th; End Date: September 7th (may fluctuate depending on playoffs)

Congratulations to 2018 U. of North Texas grad Kyle Youmans who is joining the Power broadcast team.

Stop writing messy notations in the margins and wasting pages in your baseball scorebook when games go several extra innings. Veteran MLB broadcaster Bob Carpenter's scorebooks have room for 15 innings.
