Sports Talk Host, Eastern U.S. -- POSITION FILLED

A sports radio station in the Eastern U.S. tells STAA they are accepting applications for a sports talk host.

Talk pro and major college sports.

92.9 FM ESPN in Memphis, TN for someone to host afternoons 2 to 4 pm.

This job requires a dynamic host with extensive knowledge of the Memphis Grizzlies/NBA, the Memphis Tigers, college hoops in general, SEC/College Football, and more pop culture/media excitement.

The ideal host will be a solid team-driven host, is easy to work with, demonstrates strong organizational and creative skills, and should have a working understanding of basic broadcast/radio PPM strategy. This person should also be social media and sales friendly, creating opportunities beyond the airwaves.

WMFS is one of America’s Best Sports Stations according to most national rankings and was most recently nominated with stations in Philly & Boston for the 2018 Marconi for Sports Station of the Year. WMFS has consistently produced top-ranked/nationally-recognized radio shows with top-rated Nielsen results.

92.9 FM ESPN Producer Jeffrey Wright, and The Commercial Appeal’s Mark Giannotto will take over sports-talk station’s 2-4 p.m. slot vacated by Eric Hasseltine. Wright still will produce The Geoff Calkins Show from 9-11 a.m.
