The Jackson Generals, Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners are hiring a Broadcast and Media Relations Assistant for the 2016 season.

Supervisor: Brandon Liebhaber, Manager of Broadcasting and Media Relations
Start date: February 2016 (willing to be flexible for the right candidate)
End date: End of the season (early/mid-September, depending on playoffs) Compensation: Hourly, plus $35 stipend for each home game ($1200 to $1500 per month)

Job Responsibility Areas
* Assist in producing feature stories and content for game program.
* Write game recaps & feature stories for the team website and blog
* Assist in writing press releases concerning roster moves or other club news
Media Relations:
* Assist with all media relations efforts including issuing press releases, accommodating interview requests, administering media credentials, creating & distributing daily stat packs as well as other media information and other related duties
* Produce daily game notes with Adobe InDesign
* Print and supply rosters, game notes and stat packs for the press box and clubhouse for all home games
* Assist with social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vine, etc.) and team blog efforts to aid
in coverage and publicizing the Generals in West Tennessee
* Updating team website, mainly with front page news; Experience with MiLB’s HomeBase preferred
* Experience with graphic design (InDesign, Photoshop) preferred
* Select Play-by-Play during all 70 home regular season games; Travelling opportunities based on experience and performance
* In-studio engineer and host during some games as needed
* Postgame interviews on the field for in-stadium and radio broadcast
- Interview players & coaches for broadcasts, features and team publications
* Co-host both the pregame and postgame show for all 140 regular season games. This includes video
previews for home games that air on the scoreboard
* Edit and produce audio elements, including highlights, interviews, commercials & radio imaging
* Video shooting and editing experience is a plus
Candidates should:
* Possess strong character, be reliable and trustworthy
* Be proactive and a self-starter
* Be creative in coming up with new ideas for team content.
* Demonstrate strong writing skills
* Have radio play-by-play and media relations experience (preference given to pro baseball experience)
* Have ability to handle multiple projects at once and maintain high quality of work in a professional setting
* Be proficient with Microsoft Office programs and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign,
Audition, Premiere, etc.)
* Have knowledge of radio broadcast equipment
* Be willing to learn, work well with others and have a good attitude
* Have the ability to work the entire minor league season
