KCHA-AM/FM & KCZE in Charles City, IA is looking for a News and Sports Director.

The position includes play-by-play.

You should have some news writing experience and interview skills. You will be conducting interviews, covering meetings, writing news for on air and on line, sports play-by-play and voicing newscasts on-the-air. You may also assist with an on-air shift with voice tracking and live radio.

This is a news job first. You would be smart to state your understanding of that in your cover letter.

The station is owned by North Iowa Broadcasting. They broadcast Charles City High School sports and are an affiliate of the Iowa State Cyclones Radio Network.

Three people have been doing play-by-play for the station, Erik Hoefer, Sue Hoefer and Sports Director and Local Sales Manager Tad Barry.
