FAQs about STAA portfolio services

Q: What do I need to send for STAA to build my portfolio?
A: The first step is to email your resume to us. Resumes can be sent to jon@staatalent.com. Next, send us up to one hour of your best raw, unedited audio. Include samples of everything you want on your demo disc. This can include play-by-play for all sports, talk show material, hosting, news and sports anchoring and reporting, DJ work and production samples. We’ll boil it down to a demo disc that usually runs between 12 and 20 minutes. You can also email your audio or video to us.

If you are a play-by-play announcer, please also include three highlights, not to exceed 15 seconds apiece, from each sport that you broadcast.

Q: Will STAA help me select my best work for my demo?
A: You bet! That is why we ask for three times more audio than we are going to need. We know what station PDs and team GMs want and need to hear. From the audio you send to us, we’ll select the segments that best highlight your ability while providing employers with the things they want and need to hear.

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my finished portfolios?
A: STAA will have your finished portfolios back in the mail to you within three weeks of receiving your audio. Expedited packages are available with guaranteed seven day turnaround.

Q: Is this service available to non-sportscasters?
A: By all means! We have built portfolios for news-talkers, news anchors and DJs across the country.

Q: How do I pay?
A: STAA clients have the option of paying by Visa, Mastercard, money order, cashier’s check, personal check or cash.
