The shuffle in local sports talk radio has begun.
Ben & Skin, the combination of Ben Rogers and Jeff “Skin” Wade, are gone from ESPN’s KESN-FM 103.3, where they filled a 9 a.m. to noon time slot. The bluster of national host Colin Cowherd is now filling 9 a.m. to 11 a.m
Richard Durrett, a writer for ESPN Dallas, has been paired with Ian Fitzsimmons from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fitzsimmons was part of the drive-time Galloway and Company show on the station. Chuck Cooperstein, the Mavericks radio play-by-play voice on the station, has moved to 6 p.m. Nate Newton, the former Cowboys offensive lineman who worked with Cooperstein in the afternoons, lost all that weight and now has disappeared. Randy Galloway, the franchise at the station, is 70. How much longer do you think he’s going to put off retirement?
Meanwhile, there is a new sheriff at 105.3 The Fan, where Greg Williams has been missing in action. Betting Gavin Spittle shakes things up sooner rather than later.
And at The Ticket…business as usual.
