FAU has named Ken LaVicka as the new voice of the football program. He replaces STAA client Dave Lamont.

AD Craig Angelos confirmed the move to FAUOwlAccess.com, saying Lamont’s duties with ESPN were pulling him in too many directions.

LaVicka, who works for ESPN 760, calls Owls basketball with Evan Cohen and hosts The Howard Schnellenberger Show on the same station. He was the play-by-play announcer for six games last season and 13 in the past two years while Lamont was handling ESPN duties.

Angelos told FAUOwlAccess.com that the Owls have not decided who will work with LaVicka in the booth. Former FAU player Jason Pugh will be in line to take over the analysts spot if Fred O’Connor does not return.
